I’m writing to encourage you to consider voting for Erin Boles Welsh for Select Board on Saturday, April 9th.

Erin and I were introduced ten years ago through a mutual friend. Since that time we have sat together on soccer sidelines and at school performances for our children and I have come to respect Erin as a very committed parent and a dedicated community member. During her campaign for Select Board I will continue to stand by her side.

Erin has a background in public policy and legislative relations which will serve her well as a member of the Select Board. In recent months Erin took the initiative to publish Covid-19 data on her personal Facebook page which augmented other data being provided by the town and other sources. I and others found this data very helpful in trying to navigate the ups and downs of the pandemic. It’s a great example of Erin extending herself to help others and contributing her talents for the good of the Town. As a Select Board member Erin will continue to emphasize the importance of data when it comes to governing. She knows data is where the conversation starts to set priorities in a community.

In addition to serving as a Town Meeting member, Erin volunteers as a Parent Action Team Leader for DOSA, the Dedham Organization for Substance Awareness. Early in the pandemic Erin presented an educational webinar to Dedham residents, “A Parent’s Role in Preventing Youth Substance Use” to empower Dedham parents on how to guide their children toward healthy, positive decisions.

I believe Erin’s secret weapon is her kindness. What better time than now to have a leader with that innate quality.
I believe Erin will continue to be authentic as a leader in the community and be transparent in her views and collaborative with fellow board members and stakeholders within Dedham.

Erin seeks positive change and would be a valuable addition to our Town’s Select Board, undoubtably bringing instant impact and thoughtful new contributions.
